After 13 years as the duly appointed Chief of the St. James Fire Department, John Dahill has decided to step away from his role as Chief. Prior to his appointment in 2010, John had been a member of the department for over 2 years.
John was widely recognized as being passionate and driven for the betterment of the SJFD. He was almost always the first on the scene, responding to virtually every call, no matter the time or day. He will be sorely missed. Captain Scott Boyer has been named by the Board as interim Chief. Scott has been with the Department since 2016 and was promoted to the rank of Captain in 2022. The Board has initiated the selection process for the new Chief and this person will be announced when selected. On behalf of the Board, the members of the SJFD and the residents of the St. James Community, we want to give a collective thank you to Chief Dahill for his dedication and untiring efforts in leading the St. James Fire Department these past 13 years. Please join me in wishing John and his wife Rose all the best for many years to come. Mike Kiel, President SJFD Board of Directors
