Become a Part of the St. James Fire and Rescue Team

The St. James Fire Department is constantly recruiting and training new Firefighters, EMTs, and Fire Police. With the opening of a second station in the northwest corner of the town, there is a special need for residents in the Seaside, Woodlands and Reserve areas to volunteer. Plans currently call for a fire truck and eventually an ambulance to be housed at "Station II".

The training you receive in order to perform in any of these positions will give you the knowledge and skill to perform and practice them with the utmost of confidence.  You will be trained to the degree you will be able to perform safely and professionally.

As a member of the St. James Fire Department and Emergency Medical Service, you will be able to:

  • Support community fire and medical emergency needs.

  • Improve your self-esteem knowing you are helping to protect your community.

  • Build a sense of camaraderie with your fellow SJFD and EMS members.

  • Feel confident you can help yourself and others in emergency situations.

  • Improve and refine skills in training exercises.
