5-Year Plan
Fiscal Years 2026 – 2030: Our roadmap for serving the St. James community.
2026 – 2030 SJFD 5-Year Plan
This five-year plan was approved by the Board of Directors of the St. James Fire Department, Inc. It encompasses the five fiscal years running from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2030.
This plan addresses the many challenges that the Department faces over the coming years due to major changes coming to our fire district. Principal among them is population growth that will significantly increase demands on an already burdened EMS division. More structures mean more people, accidents of all kinds, and possibly more fires.
Also included is consideration to have the Fire Police cover the entire fire district. The focus of the plan is on steps to maintain our all-volunteer status, saving the St. James Fire Department $2–3 million per year.
All-Volunteer Status
Sustaining our volunteer model saves the community $2–3 million per year while maintaining exceptional response capability.
Population Growth
Planning for significant residential growth that will increase EMS call volume and demand across all divisions.
Fire Police Expansion
Extending Fire Police coverage across the entire fire district to improve traffic and scene safety.
Equipment & Apparatus
Evaluating apparatus replacement schedules and station infrastructure to meet growing service demands.
