Protecting Our Community
The St. James Fire Department is an all-volunteer fire and emergency medical services organization dedicated to protecting the lives, property, and well-being of the residents and visitors of the St. James Plantation community and surrounding Brunswick County areas.
Our volunteers are your neighbors — trained professionals who give their time and expertise to ensure that when emergencies arise, help arrives quickly and effectively. We are proud to serve one of the fastest-growing communities in North Carolina.
A Legacy of Service
The St. James Fire Department was established to meet the growing emergency services needs of the St. James Plantation community. What began as a small group of dedicated volunteers has grown into a full-service department providing fire suppression, emergency medical services, and fire police operations.
Over the decades, we have expanded our fleet, upgraded our equipment, and continuously trained our volunteers to meet the evolving demands of emergency response. Today, we operate two stations strategically positioned to provide rapid response throughout our service area.
Our department is governed by a Board of Directors and operates under the leadership of our Chief and command staff. We are committed to transparency, accountability, and the highest standards of emergency service.
Our Services
Fire Suppression
Structural, wildland, and vehicle fire response with modern apparatus and trained personnel.
Emergency Medical Services
BLS and ALS (partnering with Brunswick County EMS) emergency medical response, patient care, and transport coordination.
Fire Police
Traffic and scene control at emergency incidents, ensuring the safety of responders and the public.
