Fire Police Appreciation Dinner Celebrates Dedicated Volunteers

Fire Police Appreciation Dinner Celebrates Dedicated Volunteers

On Saturday, August 22, 2026, St. James Fire Department Fire Police members and their significant others gathered at the home of Captain Earl Williams and his wife, Lucy, for an evening of appreciation, fellowship, and celebration.

Chief Murphy and his wife joined the group as Fire Police volunteers, family members, and department leadership enjoyed plenty of food and meaningful conversations. The gathering offered an opportunity to recognize the people who give their time, energy, and service to help keep emergency scenes safe and support the department's operations throughout the year.

St. James Fire Police have already assisted with more than 700 emergency calls in 2026. Their work includes traffic control, scene safety, support for firefighters and emergency crews, and helping protect the public during difficult and often unpredictable incidents.

The appreciation dinner was a simple but important way to honor these volunteers and acknowledge the sacrifices made not only by the Fire Police members, but also by their families and significant others. Their ongoing commitment helps St. James Fire Department continue serving the community safely, professionally, and with pride.

Thank you to Captain Earl Williams and Lucy for hosting, to everyone who helped make the evening possible, and especially to each Fire Police volunteer for their outstanding service to the St. James community.
