SJFD Participates in Southport 4th of July Parade

On July 4, 2026, the St. James Fire Department was proud to march in Southport's annual Independence Day Parade — one of the largest and most beloved 4th of July celebrations on the East Coast. Firefighters, EMS volunteers, and Fire Police all turned out to represent SJFD and celebrate America's 250th anniversary alongside thousands of Brunswick County residents.

SJFD apparatus rolled down the parade route as the crowd cheered. EMS volunteers rode aboard the ambulance waving American flags, while Fire Police volunteers helped manage traffic and keep the route safe for participants and spectators alike. Firefighters carried a specially made SJFD banner commemorating the 1776–2026 anniversary.

The Southport 4th of July Parade is a tradition SJFD is honored to be part of every year. It's a chance for our volunteers to connect with the community they serve — and to celebrate the country they love. Thank you to everyone who lined the streets to cheer us on, and to all the SJFD volunteers who gave their time to make the day special.
